Manchester, New Hampshire. Railroad Station

Busiest New Hampshire: Manchester on the Merrimac River, 57 miles from Boston, is one of the busiest manufacturing cities in New England. Its cotton mills alone are the largest in the world. The Amoskeag mills use annually 47 million pounds of cotton, 9 million pounds of wool, on 18,500 looms, with 550,000 spindles. Their product is per week 4,100,000 yards of cotton and 462,500 yards of wollen goods.
