Lowell National Historic Park 1602

One of two new double truck open trolleys, the first to be built in the United States in over 60 years. The cars are authentic reproductions of the 1597-1600 series manufactured by J. G. Brill Company for the Eastern Massachusetts Street Railway in 1901. Cars of this type ran in the City of Lowell until the mid 1920s. No. 1602 is seen here on Dutton Street, by the A. B. Mack Building enroute to the Suffolk Mill. June 1984.
