The street railway between Winchendon and Baldwinsville was formally opened on October 31, 1912, by a part of 150 of the Board of Trade, who, accompanied by the Gardner band, trolleyed to Gardner. Receptions were tendered them at Baldwinsville and Gardner. On their return to Winchendon, a banquet was served at the town hall, with addresses by several prominent speakers.
