Snowplow No. 23 was bought from the Central Vermont in 1909 during the Woodstock Railroad's most prosperous period. For 24 years it cleared the 13.88 miles of track from Woodstock to White River Junction, Vermont. With the closing of the road in 1933, it was sold to the West River Railroad. Although the plows were often derailed by the heavy Vermont snows, not a single passenger's life was lost in the Woodstock's 58-year history.
