Grand Central Terminal, New York

The Grand Central Terminal covers 76 acres, facing East 42nd Street, from Vanderbilt to Lexington Avenues. It has 33 1/2 miles of track under cover, with a capacity for handling 200 trains and 100,000 passengers each hour. There are 42 tracks for long distance on the upper or express level, and 25 tracks for suburban trains on the lower level. The Main Building at street level is 672 feet long, 310 feet wide and 150 feet high. Below street level it is 745 feet long, 455 feet wide and 45 feet deep. The terminal has a capacity of 1,053 cars.
