For 90 days, three new Toronto streetcars were operated in passenger service on four branches of Boston's Green Line. Boston transit officials tested the Canadian Light Rail Vehicles to determine their suitability for use in their city. The vehicles, developed and supplied by the Urban Transportation Development Corporation, were operated and maintained by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.
