Shown at the Reservoir carhouse of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, line car No. 4 was leased to the MBTA by the Seashore Trolley Museum in October 1969, after the former's only subway-surface wire repair car was demolished in an accident. The car formerly was owned by the Claremont (New Hampshire) Railway, and it was extensively rehabilitated in the Everett Shops of the MBTA. The lease of No. 4 is believed to be the first occasion that a trolley museum has come to the aid of an operating transit system.
