Boston & Maine Railroad, Fitchburg Division Peterboro Branch. Train Number 641 Winchendon to Concord passenger train become derailed near Carey's Crossing. Both cars run along frozen ground for 700 feet then fell over on the river ice. One passenger, Ethel Boynton, was killed, four were injured. This was a Southern Division crew, Frank Mann - conductor.
